THEN AND NOW

Long ago I was a kid. I was told stories with morals, taught good and bad, proverbs, phrases, idioms, their meaning and how they apply in real life. Times have changed long since then. I sat down and thought of how the same things are different now.

Early to bed, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. :: Preparing late, and early to rise, makes the morning relaxed, orderly and nice.

A dog is a man's best friend :: and so are cats, birds, fish and hamsters(dogs are not allowed in apartments!)

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing :: but it goes a long way in plumbing and electrical work, till help actually gets there.

A place for everything and everything in its place :: ya....if it is put back!!

Empty vessels make more noise :: especially if the maid is angry and the baby is sleeping.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :: how can anyone be seen in same clothes!! :O total fashion faux pas

Ignorance is bliss :: if you want to be swindled, cheated, extorted, tricked and double crossed!!

Laughter is the best medicine :: especially when your health insurance claim has been rejected.

Marriages are made in heaven :: and on matrimonial websites.

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones :: unless they have some juicy gossip about the other person.

Patience is a virtue :: especially if you calling any CUSTOMER CARE TOLL FREE NUMBER.

Seeing is believing :: That is why Rajinikant and Shah Rukh Khan are superstars!

The pen is mightier than sword :: unless you have a 24 x 7 news channel

Waste not want not :: if already wasted, start recycling!!

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil :: yes...we ignore it and carry on with our own life!!(no offence to the exceptions)

Ignorantia juris non excusat (ignorance of the law does not excuse) :: unless you have enough money or the brains to manufacture it (the excuse, i mean)

Money talks :: A LOT!!

All that said...there are some things that never change

It takes a thief to catch a thief :: guess that is self explanatory!

There's no place like home :)

  3. A good reflection of the past. Very true there's a huge difference between then and now. What was once Vow! can't believe it happens now. People had time for their kids, family members, relatives, friends and neighbors. Nowadays, people have time for all materialistic things except human beings. Two persons sitting next to each other chat on Whatsapp. It reminds me of a beautiful song of Rafi Saab! ye zindagi ke mele duniya mein kam na honge afsos hum na honge.....
